christian louboutin day
Color was another Christian louboutin innovation. Unlike most of his colleagues who are native northern Italians, Christian louboutin grew up in sun basked Calabria, where bright Mediterranean shades are the daily fare.
While everyone else was dressing women in gloomy city hues, Christian louboutin was lighting up the runway with bright reds, blues and greens. Sparkling sequins were another of the vivacious designer’s show-stoppers.
On the second day of the five-day Spring-Summer 1991 collections it was clear that the Christian louboutin message has caught on.
Styles are short, sexy and colorful, with body-clinging stretch outfits the favorite style. Cheerful floral and block prints abound, and the runway sparkles in a myriad of multi-colored sequins.
Krizia, who showed Monday morning, abandoned her usual accordian pleats to burst out in a series of short evening dresses in large kaleidoscope sequined prints with matching jewelry and one-color stretch catsuits worn under a loose floral printed silk blouse.
Missoni, who also showed Monday morning, transposed the shades of his famous knit prints onto a series of glittering unitards, and floor length evening gowns.
But the real works of art were a Christian louboutin exclusive. His prints, all designed by the maestro, turned the runway into an art gallery in motion, with geometric designs combining with floral patterns, christian boots, and pop-art decorations such as pictures of Hollywood myths James Dean and Marilyn Monroe and covers of Vogue magazine.
Some of the prints were painted onto the fabric, usually stretch. Others were stiched in thousands of baubles and spangles.
Everything in the collection from shoes and stockings to necklaces, bracelets and earrings reproduced the printed motif.
The designer, who received a standing ovation after the close of an hour-long show, announced that proceeds from the worldwide sale of an elegant silk shirt printed with past and present Vogue covers will go towards AIDS research promoted by the C.F.D.A., the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
