Half-an-hour later, I’m feeling slightly less gung-ho. My toes are starting to go numb from the downward pressure being exerted on them, and I’ve had a nasty moment on a cobbled

street that I thought was going to end painfully.
I’m late for a meeting at the office, and the walk back   normally a ten-minute stroll   feels like climbing Everest on stilts.
I see a bus, but running for it is out of the question. In the absence of a limo, I decide to hail a taxi. Forget the potential health hazards of these shoes: it’s my wallet

that they’re going to do serious damage to.
Safely back at my desk, I have time to contemplate the practicalities of these extraordinary manolo blahnik shoes. There’s not a lot to weigh up: if you have to spend anything more than 30

minutes at a time on your feet, or regularly walk across anything other than a wrinkle-free carpet, they’re utterly impractical.
But when wearing them makes me feel like a more confident and more attractive version of myself, frankly, who cares?

We feel that the Simple brand has significant growth opportunity. It has got a very diversified product line, an extended channel for distribution. The core assortment cover all the key price points and categories. It has got a global nature of consumer and capitalizing, really, on the environmental trend, which is really not a fad, and it’s a trend here to stay.
The Simple brand right now has three main product lines — the Green Toe, which is 100% natural material; ecoSNEAKS,office shoes, which is much more commercial, also 100% sustainable shoe, mainly on the sneaker side; and Planet Walkers, which is more comfortable walking louboutins.
To expand the product offering,High Heels for her, we have added the fourth brand. We were looking for a brand that will be noncompeting to our existing brands, and we were very pleased to find TSUBO. TSUBO was started by a UK designer which is based in the US — I mean, the UK. He worked with our CEO in prior years and Reebok, and we brought them in May of this year for about $6 million, plus earnout potential. They’ve done about $10 million last year.
What TSUBO represents is a more hip, comfortable manolo blahnik shoes for the city. We call it the city movement; it’s for the people who live in the city and work in the city. The price point is $70 to about $200. What’s attractive to us, also the retail base is similar to UGG, so we can get some of the benefits of the leverage of the relationship.
We obtained the design team in the UK. We have consolidated all the back office into operation in Santa Barbara and basically we’ll be relaunching the brand from a marketing perspective in fall 2009. Our goal for TSUBO right now is to do $35 million by 2012. So where you are adding all our targets for the four brands, we are looking by 2012 to be a $1 billion company.

Now, let me discuss our guidance. We expect louboutin boot sales for 2003 to be $74m to $75m, Simple sales to be about $8m, and Ugg sales to be $31m to $32m. We expect EPS for 2003 to be approximately $0.62 to $0.64 per diluted share after the fourth quarter one-time charge of $0.04 for the preferred stock repurchased and the $2m sub debt repayment. This is up from our previous guidance of $0.57 to $0.59. We expect fourth quarter 2003 sales to be $28m to $30m and earnings to be $0.06 to $0.08 per diluted share after the one-time $0.04 charge for the preferred stock repurchasing sub debt repayment. Last year’s fourth quarter earnings were $0.13 per diluted share and include a $0.02 in earnings from a non-recurring favorable court settlement and was based on 10.2 average diluted common shares versus this year’s expected 11.8m.
